The Real Game Wars

Warning!
This article contains sensitive subjects of video game violence and can be offensive to some viewers. We apologize in advance that your "precious" feelings were hurt and if you actually think that video games are the work of Satin and that they are used to train future serial killers.
Hello, I'm the Cuban Commentator...
I can't deny it, I'm a gamer. An avid one at that. I know about the Console Wars between Sega and Nintendo back in the 90's and the current war between Nintendo, Sony, and Mircrosoft right? Well, ever since the 90's there's been a war that has kinda gone on in the background and we don't really pay attention to it. But I think we have to now because it is getting worse. They're trying to outdo each other and its not working. And the side that is being effected aren't even fighting back and it's a war against gamers.
You'd think they'd at least try, like all the companies work together. Well all the companies want is cash. And do you know who is the main attackers in this war? The media. And a HUGE amount of parents. Do you know what games come under fire the most? Call of Duty, Battlefield, God of War, Mortal Kombat, and Left 4 Dead to name a few.
Then why make them if people are gonna complain?
Because they don't care and they know that these people are being stupid. If there are any adults reading this, You are forewarned because it is the truth and if you post a hateful comment, we will delete it. The fact of the matter is that these games warn parents well in advance about the content in the games. The ESRB rating system was set up after Mortal Kombat hit the arcades because parents didn't like how violent that it was. And do you know what? I think that the ESRB does good. Some games are given bad ratings, like Phoenix Wright: Duel Destinies receiving an M(+17) rating since the only thing that is violent are the murder scenes which are T(+13) rated, but they do a good job telling us about what type of game we are getting.
And even on here on Wattpad, we have a rating system in place to protect younger minds. And guess what, there are more E(Everyone) and E+10 games than there are T and M games. And you know what? Even some T rated games should be rated E+10. A prime example is the Trauma Center Series.  With the exception of Trauma Team. It gets a bit graphic.
And there's a warning for it on the case and the disk.
And people sure as hell complain about COD and BF. But, those games are so popular and make so much money, is it really worth it? I don't think so, and really. I don't think it matters because this is mainly about the whiners of the older age. People born in the 60's and 70's mostly. Things have moved on since then. And I think that video games are harmless. Completely harmless.
The target audience is usually mature enough for the game and as long as the gamers understand that its not real and you can't get away with half of what happens on the game its fine. But the sad thing is that there are some people that intergrate video games as their whole lives. And people have died wile doing it. There was a teen who went unconscious because he had played for 96 hours straight. That means he was playing for four freaking days straight. And he almost died and his parents didn't check on him once. Or if they did, they let him do it for as long as he did.
That's neglect. I don't care what people say but it is and the news gets worse and worse. There are reports all over the world about "Bad Gamers". Like this Japanese man who beat his 4 year old daughter so much that she had to be in the hospital. Or that PETA keeps going after Pokemon, and more relevantly, Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag. There are so many bad reports that if you could print out all of these reports, tear down the Great Wall of China, and then rebuild the entire thing back up again, you would have enough to tear down Hadrian's Wall and then rebuild it to it's former glory.
It's ridiculous. And do you know what? The most ignorant people try to explain why virtual violence encourages reality violence when there have been decade long studies that say that there is no connection and that they do nothing to aid or harm the problem of modern day violence. And they don't understand that there has always been violence. And there always will be. If people are getting out their anger on something virtual then nobody's getting hurt.
And get this, Glen Beck, one of the Republican party's most advocate speakers and radio hosts, accuses Watch Dogs(A Shooter game) for teaching people to hack. Really?! Are you seriously suggesting that a game that has you press one button on a controller, teaches kids how to hack software? Are you kidding me?! There is NO similarity between real hacking and game hacking.
This the same argument that GTA gets. That promotes stealing and antisocial behaviour and stuff like that. And that game is TAME compared to what movies and songs show. Just listen to the words of movie songs! And just think of the Moral in Aladdin: it says its okay to lie and 300's getting a sequal!
Which actually looks alright but there's nudity on the trailer. and there was nudity in the original. That's not the point though. Video games are under attack for nothing at all. There are "harmless" games as well, like Wii sports and Wii play. Even the Mario games are harmless and PETA's attacked them over the Tanooki suit. A fictional creature. They attack Pokemon as well.
Why pokemon? There's nothing wrong with it. They say that it promotes animal abuse and illegal animal fights. I can see that though. But still. Its a game That's not what PEDA and all of these other stupid people think. I thought I had a vivid imagination but at least I know its not real. But these older people don't think that way. The people born 40-50 years ago don't know anything about video games and they are the ones that are trying to undermine it.
They know it TV's fake. But they don't realize that what's done on a screen, doesn't translate to being doable in real life. Like Trauma Team. I can ace that game all day long. I have no real problems with it. But if you were to ask me to excise a tumor, in real life, do you think I can do that? Nope.
I could have a mild understanding about it, but I'm no surgeon. And I'm decent at Sim City 4 Deluxe but ask me to run a town in real life, well, let's just say it wouldn't be pretty. I might be able to kick anyone's ass in Wii Bowling, but can I win a real championship? I'd have better luck in the Pee Wee league. Its so easy in the games but in real life you'd get your head caved in!
Being good in a game doesn't mean that you're good at the exact same thing as in real life. I play Call of Duty myself. And I have shot guns several times with my first gun being a .22LR Bolt Action Youth Rifle. The second and third were a 30 Yat 6 and a 12 Gauge Shotgun. The last one that I used was Glock. And let me tell you, there is NO comparison between a real gun and the ones in COD. Real ones have recoil. And you don't have to tell me twice. The point is that there are a LOT of crazies out there and they are the ones that do this crap.
But they are a  minority. So the minority are giving everyone a bad wrap and the media are jumping on it. And the masses believe it. Biden even tried to pass a bill for a "Violent Games Tax" that will make ALL games more expensive. But that's not that surprising. There's a toasted goods tax or something and they wanted to make sweets and fizzy pop have a tax.
The point is that games are not the problems. It's the idiots that try to regulate it. The only regulation I'll accept is the ESRB ratings. Because they are universal and everybody gets it. And if parents regulated what games their kids played, there'd be a lot less news about this crap, like anything really. It's all on the parents. Not the kids.
This is the Cuban Commentator saying stay frosty and game on!
